Mooneyes X-Mas 2014 Hot Rods, Kustoms, Sleds & Rockabillies

The Mooneyes brand has been synonymous with hot rodding since the early 1950’s when Dean Moon took the hobby of customizing hot rods and racing on the salt flats and desert dry lakes and turned it into his business. Mooneyes still calls their Santa Fe Springs shop home after all these years. A location and cafe in Japan have helped to grow the Mooneyes brand into an international phenomenon. To celebrate their history, Mooneyes throws a Christmas Party car show at the Irwindale Speedway showcasing hot rods, classic cars, lowriders, drag racers, trucks and motorcycles. Lately, even a retro van revival has taken place at the show.

Before the sun was even up, the Irwindale Speedway was packed full of cars and Christmas cheer. The lines soon began to form for some fun runs down the track. Years past have seen rain on occasion and luckily this year there was a break in the weather and the conditions for drag racing were perfect to celebrate Christmas, vintage racing and classic cars.
